This corset was inspired by Japanese Shinto temples for the architecture themed 2019 Foundations Revealed Contest. The corset is black silk crepe from a vintage kimono, with the remainder of the kimono turned into a wrap skirt. It is adorned with gold leather applique, sculpted hip fins to echo tiled roofs, and a bust piece of sculpted thermoplastic recreating a wooded lintel carving.
